Proposed Town Code Amendments

The Town of Glenville Code Committee proposes minor amendments to the following sections of the zoning code:

• Definitions section 270-3 clarifies the meaning of several permitted uses identified in various zoning districts.
• District and Boundaries, found in sections 270-10 through 13 adds Freemans' Bridge Road to the list of zoning districts and references the Schenectady County GIS map rather than "Town of Glenville's GIS map."
• Sign Control, found in sections 270-66 through 72 consolidates the sign requirements to one location within the code and eliminates the LED lit signage in commercial districts. 
• Personal Wireless Service Facilities section 270-46 is expanded to include 5G installations, primarily crafted to ensure safety and to preserve aesthetics.
• Guidelines section 270-133 cleans up the commercial guidelines to one document approved and adopted January -February 2020. The older versions remained in the zoning code and need to be removed.

The proposed amendments are scheduled for public hearing at the Wednesday, August 19th 2020 meeting of Glenville Town Board.
