Hazard Mitigation Plan

The Hazard Mitigation Plan describes the potential natural hazards within the Town of Glenville, proposes methods to mitigate the potential hazards and plans for responding to the hazards.  Glenville works with Schenectady County and the Department of Homeland Security (DHSES) to update the Hazard Mitigation Plan. During the 2021 update, DHSES offered guidance on how to address global hazards through public education. The fact sheets available on this page – developed by Winter 2021 Union College interns - are in response to that guidance. Topics include:

Flood Mitigation

Water Conservation

Severe Storms

Energy Conservation

Feel free to contact our town offices with any questions. We want to thank Union College, especially Professor Ilene Kaplan and her students, for their hard work in developing the fact sheets.
