Protecting Our Environment
What are invasive species? Non-native species that adversely effect the habitats they invade economically, environmentally or ecologically. An invasive species can be any type of organism including plants, animals, and diseases. Moved from their native region to our region, their populations are often able to grow unchecked. Their proliferation can lead to the extinction of native plants and animals and permanently alter habitats.
