Police Reform Survey

Your Input Can Help Shape Policing in Our Town

On June 12, 2020, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed an Executive Order requiring each local government within the state of New York to adopt a policing reform plan by April 1, 2021.  As such, the Town of Glenville desires to take this opportunity to collaborate with community leaders, clergy, residents and interested members of the town’s non-profit organizations.  To that end, we have established a committee to explore the role of policing in our community and we want to hear your opinion on this topic.

Attached is a link to survey that we hope you will take a few moments to fill out for us.  Your responses will be critical to our mission of identifying strategies for effective policing standards and will be used to help guide the committee’s work.

The committee is led by Supervisor Chris Koetzle and Chief Steve Janik.  Discussions in the committee seek to provide a framework to review the town’s policing policies and encourage members to offer a proactive plan for potential legislative action.

Thank you in advance for your willingness to help the town.  If you have any questions or comments, you can contact the Supervisor directly at ckoetzle@townofglenville.org or Chief Janik at sjanik@townofglenville.org
