Town Hall To Re-Open May 6th

"Slow Roll" Opening On A Limited Basis
May 6th Letter

Dear Resident,

I wanted to take this opportunity to write you about the town’s decision to re-open Town Hall on a limited basis.  First, however, I want to thank our entire staff for all of their hard work and dedication over the past several weeks.  I am proud that we are one of the few municipalities that did not miss a beat by continuing to provide our residents with the important services they need.

After careful thought, much consideration and with input from our employees, Town Hall will re-open as of May 6th, but on a limited basis.  First, social distancing guidelines must continue to be followed, all visitors to the Town Hall will be required to wear masks; all employees will be required to wear face coverings (of the nose and mouth) and have gloves available when interacting with the public or when social distancing is not possible.  Second, we made modifications to Town Hall that will help better protect our employees and residents.  We installed glass on the counters and created a new service window that will help keep people better spaced out when visiting.

We will phase into the re-opening while still maintaining within the 50% “non-essential” order as follows:

· Beginning May 6th, the following departments will be open to the public Monday and Wednesday 9-12: Building, Engineering and Planning.

· Beginning May 6th, the following departments will be open to the public Tuesday and Thursday 9-12: Tax Assessor, Clerk and Receiver, Finance and the Courts.  The Court is not scheduling session, however, until at least after May 31st.

We will evaluate our situation and adjust hours of operations as needed.  The Senior Center will remain closed at this time and we will evaluate its possible opening on June 1st.  The playgrounds and tennis courts are also closed, but we will evaluate one or both of these opening by May 15th

I thank you for your patience during this unprecedented time.  I believe that this controlled, well-reasoned and thoughtful “slow roll” opening of Town Hall is much needed and will help us start to get a sense of normalcy again.  Please stay safe and healthy.  I look forward to seeing you soon!
