Town of Glenville COVID-19 Update

Week of April 10th
4.10

Weekly Updates:

             1. We will keep all town facilities (Town Hall, Senior Center, playgrounds, etc.) closed indefinitely.  We have now officially closed our tennis and                        basketball courts as well (as mandated by NYS).  We have canceled the May 2nd “Love Your Parks” event, but our Highway Department will be                      planting our 200 trees for 200 years prior to that date.  If you ordered a tree, we will deliver them to you and if you still want to order a tree, please                  call Town Hall at 518.688.1200.  Trees are still available.

             2. The staff continues to report at the 50% reduction levels and continues to respond to all emails, phone calls, and on-line requests for services.                   Our drop box is still available in the Police Station vestibule for anyone wishing to make any payments by check – please no cash.

             3. The Bulk Pick Up program is now complete.

4. Our Senior Shopping Assistance program continues.  If you would like help with your shopping needs, please email vhillis@townofglenville.org or call her at 518.688.1221.

5. The town Board will meet on April 15th.   Streaming equipment has been ordered and will be installed prior to April 15th.  This meeting is closed to the public.

6.  Get a “passport” card from Town Hall or one of the participating businesses and as you fill it up, you can submit it to the town for a chance to win a prize each week.  See website for details.  First drawing for prizes will be Friday, April 17th.  This week’s prize a free Glenville 2020 t-shirt and water bottle.

7. Working with the town’s Local Development Corporation, we have awarded (6) small businesses with our emergency loans to help them through this difficult time.  If you’re a small business in the town (including the village) and you would like to be considered for an emergency loan with no    closing costs, no payment and no interest for one year, please visit the town’s Economic Development page for an application and details or call Melissa Cherubino at 518.688.1218.
