Snow Emergency Declared 2/12/19-2/13/19

Snow Emergency

MESSAGE FROM TOWN SUPERVISOR CHRIS KOETZLE

Glenville Declares Snow Emergency

Recent forecasts indicate that we should expect snow accumulation Tuesday, February 12, 2019 into Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Some models have projected accumulations of between 4 and 8 inches followed by freezing rain/sleet for a time early Wednesday morning with the potential for precipitation ending as a bit of snow later Wednesday morning.

Residents should be prepared for potentially difficult travel and should plan accordingly. Further, as a reminder under town code, there is no overnight parking on Glenville roads between October and May. This is important because it helps our Highway Department remove snow and ice quickly and efficiently and allows for emergency services to better respond to calls. Cars parked in the road are a danger and prevent proper clearing of those roads.

Therefore, effective Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 6 pm through Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 12 pm, I have declared a snow emergency throughout the town of Glenville. This means that we ask that you limit your travel and all on-street parking is prohibited during this time. If your car is parked on the road during the snow emergency - at any time of day - you may be ticketed and/or towed.

Please check the town's website, www.townofglenville.org for the most up-to-date information.
