We are responsible for maintaining approximately 94 miles of Town Roads.  These responsibilities include snow removal and ice control, paving and maintenance of roads, signage, roadway markings, drainage, tree and brush cutting and removal within the Town's right of way, and the disposal of non-domestic dead animals from Town roads.

        DO's and Don'ts in Glenville

There is a NO PARKING on State, County and Town roads from November 15 to April 1 between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., or after a snow emergency [3" snowfall], which shall remain effective for 48 hours after the snowstorm has ceased.  Any vehicles found in violation of this regulation will be towed away at the direction of the Highway Superintedent or the Glenville Police Department

Do not blow snow from your driveway into the street.  Residents who hire contractors to plow their driveways are responsible for any damage resulting from snow plowing into the road by that contractor.

Do not place basketball, soccer equipment, etc. in the street or right-of-way.

Do keep the area in front of your mailbox free of snow.  Mailboxes may be placed in the right-of-way so that the face of the box is parallel with the edge of pavement.  Mailboxes should be placed at a height where the bottom of box is 48" to 60" above the ground.

Do keep grass clippings out of the street to avoid clogging the storm drain.
