Welcome to the Town of Glenville - a town of good neighbors.

Incorporated in 1821, Glenville (which includes the Village of Scotia) has grown to be a town of 50 square miles and nearly 30,000 residents. We’re proud of our town’s assets -- stellar parks, a vibrant and growing business community, and wonderful neighborhoods.

Loose Leaf Clean Up

Crews are currently vacuuming leaves on state and county roads off the west side of Route 50. We are only collecting leaves that remain from the fall, please do not add any new piles. We will return to the residential neighborhoods off of Pashley and Eltinge next week then continue working south.

PUBLIC MEETING RESCHEDULED

The public meeting scheduled to discuss the proposed clean up plan for the former Kenco Site (Glenville) has been rescheduled to April 4, 2017 at 7:00 PM at the Town of Glenville Senior Center, 32 Worden Road, Glenville, NY 12302 to discuss the proposed remedy and accept public comments.  Please see the fact sheet for details about the proposed remedy, meeting, and comment period.

The following link opens a fact sheet that invites public comment about a proposed remedy to address contamination related to a portion of the former Kenco Chemical Company Inc. Site #447039 (Glenville, Schenectady County) within New York's State Superfund Program.




BULK PICKUP PROGRAM 2017

The Town of Glenville has scheduled its 2017 Bulk Pick Up program.  The program will take place starting Monday, April 24th and will be complete within two weeks.  Items cannot be placed to the curb prior to Saturday, April 22nd.  Please refer to the attached fact sheet for details.  There is no daily schedule by street so residents are asked to be patient with the collection process.    






DEC:  Residential Brush Burning in NYS prohibited

The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) reminds residents that with warming temperatures and dry conditions, residential brush burning is prohibited March 16 through May 14 across New York State.  Please see press release below for more information.






Glenville Senior Center Program

The Glenville Senior Center hosts a caregiver support group called Caregivers Conversations at 1 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month.  Caregivers meet at the center to discuss caregiving issues faced in people’s daily lives. The group is facilitated by Schenectady County Department of Senior and Long Term Care Services Caregiver Support Group staff.  Upcoming meetings will be held on April 4th, May 2nd and June 6th.  The Glenville Senior Center is located at 32 Worden Road.  Free and open to the public.
