One complete pass has been done in all three Zones.  We are in the process of doing one final pass in Zone One, due to leaves not being off the trees during our first pass. We are currently working in Woodhaven  / Helen Estates and Willowbrook areas.  All state and county roads are complete except for Vley, Spring, Mohawk/Rt 5, Sacandaga & Hetcheltown, we plan to complete these roads next week. Once we have completed Zone One and the remaining state & county roads we will be converting our equipment over to snow/ice operations.  Thank you again for your cooperation in making sure your leaves were out when the trucks came through.

Crews worked the holiday yesterday picking on some State & County roads.  The following roads have been completed: Rte 50, Swaggertown, Worden, VanBuren, Gleason, Scotchbush, Goode, Lakehill, Highmills, VanVorst, Baldwin, southside of Sunnyside, northside started, eastside of Charlton up to Rosemere.  Crews will continue State & County roads on Saturday. Crews today are working the Bancker area, Harlau area, Forest Hills area & Droms Rd Ext area.  Just as a reminder, please do not place leaves in the roadways as it creates a dangerous situation.  All leaves should be placed on edge of lawn. Thank you.

Update: 11/9/09
All crews are currently working in Zone Two.  Crews today are in Oakhill Dr, Hadel Rd., Caroline Ln. and Velina Dr. areas.

Update: 11/4/09
Crews are currently working in the Harmon Glen area [last area in Zone One]. Zone One should be complete by the end of this week with crews moving to Zone Two next week.  Weather permitting we should be back to Zone One in approximately three weeks. If you do not wish to take any chances you may bag your leaves, bagged leaves will be picked up Tues & Fri thru to Thanksgiving. You can also dispose of your leaves/yardwaste at the County Farm, 24 Hetcheltown Rd ph: 399-6980. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the highway garage at 382-1406.

Update: 10/8/09
Loose Leaves will be vacuumed on all roads within the Town of Glenville.  Leaves should be raked out to the curb side.  It is illegal to place anything in the roadway.  Leaf piles should be free of brush, stone or any other debris. Due to the unpredictability of weather once we experience a heavy snowfall leaves will need to be bagged as our machines are not equipped to handle wet, icy leaves.

No brush should be mixed in with the loose leaves.  Brush should be cut into 4ft lengths, tied and bundled and placed in a separate pile. Brush will be picked up on or about your garbage day until Thanksgiving.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office at 382-1406.
Thank you, Richard LeClair, Highway Supt/Commissioner
